The following activities are perfect for your celebration of Black history. Early preparations will ensure it’s well-planned, meaningful and understood by everyone. Children will have the opportunity to make instruments, feel the rhythm of the music and the pure joy of Black British carnival tradition.

We are going to explore physical activity at home and what it means for young children, whilst offering some ways to overcome barriers for those who might not be able to access outdoor spaces as easily as others.

This learning workout will explore some of the ways we can create a more inclusive environment for children who are care-experienced and how we can best support them from a young age.

The experiences of service children are very individual due to the specific nature of their involvement in the service. Service children are more likely to face barriers to accessing education throughout their first 25 years of life.

Early education and care provisions provide a unique space to develop language proficiency and all professionals should be equipped to support children for whom English is not their native language.
